Peerless Exclusive Rehabilitation

Cynthia Chernyavsky PT, Cert. MDT, RYT, PCES, PRPC.

With over 29 years of clinical field practice, Cynthia has provided Physical Therapy to patients in a wide variety of settings,  ranging from hospitals, sub-acute rehab centers, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and home care services. Throughout her lengthy career, Cynthia  gained valuable experience, which has helped her become a highly skilled and versatile clinician she is today.

Vast majority of her practice was spent in outpatient orthopedic care, specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal, neurological, and pre- and post-operative surgical conditions. Later, she decided to focus further on mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine and Its related conditions. In 2013 she earned her Spine Specialist Certification (Cert. MDT) through the prestigious McKenzie Institute, making her one of the few credentialed spine specialists in the area.

Throughout her career, she encountered numerous cases where pain and physical impairments seem to originate from pelvic floor dysfunction. In her ongoing quest to further her education, skills and ability to provide the best care for her patients, Cynthia studied Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and related impairments, through the Herman and Wallace institute, where she had earned the rare title of  Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC). Thus becoming one of the few credentialed practicing therapists in the area. A large portion of her current practice is treating pregnancy and postpartum related pelvic floor dysfunction.  Her specialty as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES) has been invaluable in diagnosis and treatment of these often difficult, misunderstood and intimate conditions.

Her quest for knowledge, passionate care, experience and drive to continually further her education,  enhances her skills as a clinician, to provide the best treatment for those affected by these debilitating impairments. Their return to pain-free and optimal living is often it’s own reward and serves to continually drive her forward and sharpen her skills

In her spare time, Cynthia has been a long time yoga fan and practitioner . Her passion lead her to become a certified yoga instructor in 2019.  She is currently a registered yoga teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. She is often able to  incorporate beneficial yoga techniques to enhance her clinical treatment sessions, and provides one on one safety instructions to help educate those who are interested in yoga, to avoid potential injury and perfect their form. Seeing her patient’s improvements, Cynthia feels very privileged to be a part of their journey in guiding their health and recovery.

Her commitment and drive to see  patients excel, over the years, has led her daughter onto the path to become a Physical Therapist as well. She too had recently earned her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at NYU and became a practicing clinician to follow in her mother’s footsteps.

In 2021, together with her Physical Therapist husband, she started a mobile concierge therapy business called Peerless Exclusive Rehabilitation Services, which provides outpatient Physical Therapy conveniently at home location with a broad spectrum of therapeutic services and focus.
